Why is Toxoplasma testing so important for pet health?

    Toxoplasma gondii is an invisible killer that threatens the health of cats and dogs. As the final host of felines, cats excrete infectious oocysts through feces, while dogs, as intermediate hosts, may be infected by accidentally eating oocysts or raw meat. 

    Pets infected with Toxoplasma may experience fever, vomiting, neurological damage, and even death (young pets and immunocompromised pets are at the highest risk). What's more serious is that Toxoplasma can be indirectly transmitted to humans through pets, and pregnant women and people with low immunity face fatal risks such as fetal malformations and encephalitis.

Detection Principle

    During the test, drop the sample into the sample well and chromatograph upward under the capillary effect.

    If it is positive, the viral antigen in the specimen will first bind to the anti-Toxoplasma monoclonal antibody labeled with latex microspheres during the chromatography process to form a complex, and then continue to chromatograph upward. The complex will bind to the anti-Toxoplasma monoclonal coated antibody fixed on the membrane, and a red strip will appear in the test area (T). 

    If it is negative, no red strip will appear in the test area (T). Regardless of whether the test result is negative or positive, a red strip should appear in the quality control area (C), proving that the test result is effective.
